When planning a reno most people I speak to always ask, what about resale. And it is a fantastic question. Most of the properties I have renovated have been for resale so current trends are important to our design plan.

In this case I would throw caution to the wind and embrace your inner style. In my mind lifestyle wins over practicalities as you have no immediate plans to leave your house and you should make the choices that will positively impact your time there and bring you and your family happiness.

You probably have one foot out the door so keep your design plan consistent, neutral and add your personal style through your decor.
