We are Claire & Derek.

Renovating houses has changed our lives in ways we could only imagine. It has given us the freedom to create the life that allows us to prioritise our family. 

There are two threads to our property affair

1. Investing – The lifestyle we have built is through property investing including flipping and airbnb properties. We now help others by sharing our strategy and templates to help you avoid the mistakes and lessons we have already made.

2. The home renovator – we are sharing our DIY tips and inspiration to help you create a beautiful home you will love for years to come.

I’m Claire, and with my husband Derek, we have been renovating houses for over a decade in multiple countries and have built a successful business. Still, our most precious and proud achievements are our three beautiful children, Anya, Connor and Charlotte and our three fluffy fur babies.

We renovate a few months of the year and spend the rest of the time enjoying life.

Here’s our story.

It’s funny how life can change direction and take you on a completely different path.

We had never seen property in our future, and who would have thought a ladder climbing corporate girl from Australia and an Electrician from the rolling hills of Ireland would come together to build a dream.

We met backpacking around Canada and lived and travelled worldwide, working in Canada (if you can call it to work), the UK, USA and Australia. We loved to travel and have spent time both together and separately being inspired by what the world offers. We didn’t know it then, but we had a burning desire to take something old and unwanted and make it beautiful and functional.

The magic started for us in London. We loved exploring the old city, and there’s nothing quite like the architecture Europe has to offer – we used to dream of restoring these crumbling properties, and I don’t think either of us thought it would become our reality until one day it did.

It didn’t initially start as a career,  more necessity. We wanted to get on the property ladder and own our own home, and we were tired of the rented walls. And quite frankly didn’t want to pay someone else’s mortgage anymore when we could put that towards our future. We knew we wanted to fix a place up and found a great 1930’s house in a great location in London.  

Before we had finished the house, an agent who saw our work contacted us about another nearby listing. This was what we had been dreaming of, a crumbling Victorian built in the late 1800s. We turned up at the open house, and there were many people. We knew we wouldn’t be able to outbid them, but we noticed people weren’t staying long. There was a U-turn at the door when they realised the state of the place. For us, we were enamoured. All we could see was potential, potential, potential. We stayed the entire open house walking through and reworking the layout and trying to grasp the amount of work needed. And that was it. We were hooked.

Fast forward two years, and we had paid off all our debt and built a six figure cash business but, more importantly, had the freedom to decide if we did want this to be our life

We then spent many successful years in the US buying and renovating property; designing and building as well as investing in a fabulous AirBnB property before moving back to Australia to be closer to family and continue the reno dream.

This business has given us so much and I can’t wait to share the programs with you to help you succeed.
