Happy Fall Y’all
Happy Fall Y’all – I used to laugh whenever I heard that, but there was something quite comforting in those words as it meant the humid summer was coming to an end. Don’t get me wrong, we had about 2 weeks of winter in Florida but in my house…..well….you could smell the apple spice and enjoy the colours of fall from September onwards….with just a flick of the thermostat you were in New England.

And one of the things I loved most about living in the US was their love of seasonal decor. Bandwagon, Yep I will surely jump on.
So as we, in the Southern Hemisphere head into Spring, those of you in the Northern will be starting to think about Fall so I wanted to share some of my Fall favourites…..Don’t worry my Spring yummies are just around the corner.
So it’s no joke, I literally love decorating the house for the season, I’m not about the odd tea towel I am talking about creating an Autumnal / fall wonderland which flows seamlessly into Halloween before it all gets taken down for my ultimate season, Christmas.
So are you a traditionalist, loving the oranges and reds or do you prefer the cooler shades of sage and white?

And whilst all my decor is locked up in our storage container waiting for our reno to end (it hasn’t started yet) I thought I’d share my top pinterest pics for my 3 fav Fall decorations….

Pumpkins. You can’t celebrate Fall without Pumpkins….I’m still a bit unsure about pumpkin pie – I think it’s a mind over matter type of thing but I am 100% sure that a few intentionally placed pumpkins can brighten up any Fall display or Thanksgiving Table.

Flora. Hands up, I have a brown thumb, yep you heard it first, I literally will kill any plant that is left in my care, it’s not that I don’t love them it’s that I forget about them and the inevitable happens……So Faux Flora is the way to go plus you can reuse them each year, before you roll your eyes….they have come a long way from your grandmothers side table. There are so many beautifully designed stems that my questions is – How can you not? But I will say invest in good quality stems and I always buy an odd number like 3 or 5 as they’re easier to arrange.
It’s all about the scents. Whether you’re a candle kind of gal or you like scentsy of essential oils or a simmer pot there is nothing quite like having your house smell like it’s straight out of a Hallmark movie. My top tip is to invest in good quality candles, they will have a stronger scent that will last for longer. Follow along as I will have some Simmer Pot recipes for your seasonal fav’s coming soon….
