Edgewater

Edgewater was an enigma, at every turn there were challenges. This home had been previously owned by the person who designed and built it, they were quirky to say the least. Build in the 90’s, it had great bones and a whole lot of 90’s thrown in, but that wasn’t the challenge. The biggest issue with this house was that every room had multiple levels. There was a step down into the living room then a step back up into the kitchen but what blew us away was that there were 6 levels in the master! I kid you not, you stepped down once onto a platform, then took another step down into the bathrooms (his and hers) on either side of the entry to the bedroom. Then the main room had 4 more different sized platforms. We still haven’t quite figured out how they had the room set up, we can only assume they rolled into bed from one of the other platforms. From the top platform on the opposite wall to the fireplace there were 6 steep steps down into the master closet. The master closet storage opened out under the master bedroom platforms.

So before we could even begin making this house ‘pretty’ we had to deal with the flow issue which involved rebuilding a number of floors throughout the house.
